AN OPEN LETTER TO THE CHURCH
July 2020
Dear Brothers and Sisters in Christ,
The Lord seems to be giving a clarion call to his Church through 2 Chronicles 7:14.
If my people, which are called by my name, shall humble themselves, and pray, and seek my face, and turn from their wicked ways; then will I hear from heaven, and will forgive their sin, and will heal their land. KJV
When the different streams within the Church all seem to be hearing the same call to humility, prayer, seeking the face of God, and repentance, it’s time to be on our faces together asking our Lord, the head of the Church, what we have done or not done that has grieved his heart and created a sick land so desperately in need of healing.
Prayer groups are forming to repent for being conformed to this world in values and lifestyle. We repent for abortion. We repent for unforgiveness. We repent for judging others in place of loving them with Christ’s love. We repent for sexual sin. We repent for living self-consumed lives that are oblivious to the lost and the sacrifice we are called to make to reconcile them to God.
This is all well and good. We are repenting for these things in true humility and we are determining to turn away from these sins in heart and actions.
I also think there is something we have been oblivious to that is terribly grievous to God, whose identity is Father.
I believe God is speaking to His Church and saying with all the passion of a righteous Father to those who will have ears to hear,
“What have you done with my children?”
“How dare you abdicate educating the children and putting them in the hands of a godless training system that mocks and scoffs me, that works to form my children in their image, that deceives them into believing at best that I am something to turn to superstitiously in a crisis and at worst that I am either a haphazard tyrant or better yet a myth made up by weak fools?”
“I am Wisdom and the source of all knowledge and understanding. How dare you place my children in the mentorship of fools who, without me, cannot know their right hand from their left?”
“Does it not compute with you that my command to you to disciple nations means you are responsible to disciple the children of your nation in Truth and Righteousness?”
“You, compromisingly, for the sake of personal convenience and conformity, allow my children to be influenced by an ungodly system and then weep to me when the children fall into sin and deception.”
“Did you not even count the cost of your disobedience?”
“Look around you. See the children now grown. Now mocking. Now raging. Now forfeiting life and freedom and choosing death, lies and mayhem. Do you think this is happening by accident?”
“You weep freely for my aborted children, but at least those children come straight into my arms. The children you have handed over for training in humanism go on to turn their backs on me and harden their hearts toward me, forfeiting salvation and embracing a new father, the devil. Aborted babies live with me, but the majority of the children in your care, on your watch, are consigned to hell. What are you thinking? What are you doing?”
“I placed my Father’s heart, my identity in you, my power in you, expecting you to nurture each generation to life, so they are carriers of the glory who know how to release my kingdom on earth. “
“Weep! Repent!”
“Humble yourselves!” “Pray!” “Turn from your wicked ways!”
Church, we have abdicated the education of the children. This has to stop. The Lord’s Church, his people, need to take charge of education in this nation, not just the education of our own children, but all the children. That is the 180 degree turn called repentance. Turn, do it right, at whatever the cost and whatever the sacrifice.
If we repent with true humility, true sorrow, Father God will forgive us and empower us to educate the children of the nation. Without true repentance, we will just decide the task is impossible and go blithely on, being responsible for the destruction of children’s lives.
Lord, we repent.
In Honor of the Father’s Heart,
